Calling All Artists!! Making Art/Making Cities: a workshop on making art in municipal contexts with award-winning theater artist Marty Pottenger

February 4th, 2013  |  by Published in featured, Featured Events, Uncategorized

Can poetry improve relationships between police officers and the communities they serve? Can printmaking reduce incidents of discrimination among public workers? Can choral singing improve relationships and collaboration among elected officials?

Can art address some of the most challenging problems facing our cities and towns?

Join us in exploring ways that art and artmaking can address critical (non-art) challenges facing our cities. Making art – poetry, collages, photographs, theater, visual, music – taps into our flexible intelligence, dramatically increases our ability to function as a team, envision positive outcomes, remember our connections to others and be willing to take inspired risks that lead to innovative solutions. Join award winning artist Marty Pottenger in an interactive workshop on how to put creativity to work generating ideas and realizing solutions that make better cities better for all of us.

Saturday, February 9th from 1-4PM in Holyoke, MA

Cost: $5-$25 sliding scale
Everyone welcome. No one turned away for lack of funds. Space is limited.
