Kathy Couch

Through the use of light, language, readymade objects, photography and space, I attempt to craft experiences that allow people to linger and contemplate moments of being, that they might become more aware of the power they possess to influence and shape the way they move—alone and together. By drawing attention to the subtle occurrences between bodies and the spaces they inhabit and share, I attempt to mark the significance of each person’s presence. Ultimately, I hope to awaken an agency in each percipient that allows them to move through the world with a more nuanced sense of empathy, responsibility, generosity and delight.

Or, if haikus are more your cup of tea…

I shape light,
attend to moments, am learning
to take my time.
